St. Paul police: Pedestrian, 69, fatally struck by driver in Highland Park
A driver fatally struck a 69-year-old pedestrian in St. Paul’s Highland Park Monday morning.
The man was crossing against a red light at West Seventh Street and Maynard Drive just before 7:30 a.m., police said of preliminary information.
The driver of a pickup truck was heading east on Seventh and struck the pedestrian at Maynard.
The driver is cooperating with the investigation, said Sgt. Mike Ernster, a police spokesman.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said their investigation is ongoing.
