New England Revolution release goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic after two seasons
The New England Revolution announced Thursday that the club has waived goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic.
Ivacic departs the Revolution after two seasons and 49 regular-season starts, with 12 clean sheets to his credit. For his MLS career, which includes five seasons with Portland Timbers FC, the Slovenian goalkeeper owns 20 shutouts in 103 MLS appearances, 102 of them starts.
The Revolution are at home this Saturday to host Toronto FC at Gillette Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
New England sits in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Revolution have actually been a stronger road team, as they are only 3-9-2 in games in Foxboro. Overall, the team is 8-14-7.
Toronto resides in 13th in the conference.
