Wednesday’s high school scores and highlights

ROUNDUP

It was a victory in court for Minnechaug and Monson as Hampden County Superior Court Judge Tracy Duncan upheld a decision she made earlier in the week, stating the MIAA couldn’t record games played in the Western Mass. tournament as forfeits.

Duncan originally granted a temporary injunction on Monday, delaying the release of the field hockey and volleyball brackets, the MIAA requested a meeting to state its case which essentially said the schools didn’t submit their complete schedules by September 13. The schools submitted their schedules but didn’t include games contested in the Western Mass. tournament prior to the start of the state tournament.

Shortly after the decision was handed down and the field hockey and volleyball brackets were released, the MIAA issued a statement: “We will abide by the court order and seed the field hockey and volleyball tournaments based on the decision by the Hampden County Superior Court.”
