Thursday Pickorama

Since John DiBiaso took over at Catholic Memorial, we’ve had more than our share our success picking the Knights.

Last Saturday was not one of those days.

St. John’s Prep literally grounded its way to victory, grinding out a loss in our coffers. The win puts the Eagles in control of their own destiny in the Catholic Conference race.

Central Catholic appeared to be clicking, coming off a pair of wins heading into a key Merrimack Valley Conference showdown with Andover. We rode the wave with the Raiders and got flushed out by the Golden Warriors, who made the key plays when needed.

Our final hit took place in Wellesley where we went with one streaking (Natick) against another (Wellesley). The home cooking proved to leave a bitter taste in our mouths, not to mention a third loss on the week.

EVERETT over Lynn Classical: If you like offense, this is the place to be Friday night.

Peabody over SALEM: Tanners head into the postseason with a perfect record.

Billerica over ANDOVER: Rock-solid Indians keep things rolling.

MILFORD over Franklin: Bounce back for the Scarlet Hawks.

ABINGTON over Middleboro: Final regular season game for coach Kelliher is a success.

TEWKSBURY over North Andover: Redmen are an underrated contender in Div. 4.

Lawrence Academy over TABOR: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Not sure what the rhyme is if Tabor fools me a third time.

St. John’s Prep over BC HIGH: We’ll pick the set of Eagles from Danvers.

BB&N over Belmont Hill: Winner is in the driver’s seat for a NEPSAC bowl bid.

MILTON ACADEMY over St. Sebastian’s: When in doubt, take the home team.
