Met Council, Metro Transit officials ride Green Line, Blue Line all week

Five top officials with Metro Transit and the Metropolitan Council will ride the metro’s two light rail lines throughout this week as part of their first-ever “Listening Sessions Tour,” an effort to connect with everyday riders and hear passenger concerns and feedback.

The officials will board at 15 Green Line and Blue Line stations throughout the week, including Union Depot Station, Snelling Avenue, Lake Street/Midtown and Mall of America Station, among others. The officials include Met Council Chair Charlie Zelle, Metro Transit General Manager Lesley Kandaras, Metro Transit Police Chief Ernest Morales III, Metro Transit Chief Operating Officer Brian Funk and Met Council Transportation Chair Deb Barber.

Officials were scheduled to ride the Blue Line on Tuesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, the schedule called for meeting riders between 7:15 and 7:45 a.m. at the Warehouse District/Hennepin Avenue Station in Minneapolis and riding eastbound toward the Union Depot Station, with stops at Snelling Avenue Station from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and on the return trip from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

An additional stop was planned from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Robert Street Station.

Shorter westbound and eastbound trips were planned on the Green Line on Friday morning, ending with a stop from 8 to 8:30 a.m. at the Union Depot Station.

Met Council and Metro Transit officials are seeking feedback on the 40 goals outlined in their Safety and Security Action Plan. More information is online under “News and Events” at MetroTransit.org.
