Bruins try to halt losing streak at seven in Detroit
The Bruins will attempt to halt their season-long losing streak at seven games when they take on the Detroit Red Wings Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena (8 pm) and they’ll be going back with familiar look.
David Pastrnak is being reunited with linemates Pavel Zacha and Morgan Geekie
“I just think we tried a couple of different combinations over the last couple of games and it hasn’t worked out the way we wanted it to,” said interim coach Joe Sacco. “So I know that one line with Geeks, Pav and Pasta has been producing a lot, so we’ll try and reunite them and see if we can get some of that back.”
In the B’s 6-2 loss in Anaheim on Wednesday, Pastrnak played with Casey Mittelstadt as his centerman and both players were a minus-5.
Defenseman Mason Lohrei did not participate in the morning skate because of illness.
“He’ll be a game-time decision. Hopefully he can play,” said Sacco.
Jeremy Swayman, who hasn’t played since last Sunday in Los Angeles in this light work week, will be back in.
While the B’s are six points out of a playoff spot with nine games to go, the situation for Detroit is slightly less hopeless as the Wings are three games out with 10 to play.
