Eagan massage therapist charged with sexually assaulting three clients

An Eagan massage therapist is charged with sexually assaulting three clients since May.

The latest criminal complaint, filed Monday in Dakota County District Court, says 32-year-old Johnny Le of Richfield raped a woman on Dec. 20 at his massage studio, located in an office building along Nichols Road, east of Cedar Avenue and south of Cliff Road.

A nationwide arrest warrant has been issued for Le, who faces felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct in that case.

In the first case, Le was first charged in June by summons but was not booked into custody, court records show. He was released from jail Feb. 14 after posting a $25,000 bond in the second case.

The first allegations surfaced when a woman went to Eagan police on May 6 and reported that Le touched her vaginal area during a full-body massage two days earlier. The victim told police she told him, “ok, that’s enough” and sat up, the criminal complaint says.

Later, the woman texted Le and told him what happened was inappropriate. Le responded with, “It was very unprofessional” and apologized and said he’d refund her payment, the complaint says.

Le had a remote court hearing July 23 on a charge of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct, a gross misdemeanor. He was ordered to follow interim conditions. Prosecutors added a second charge to the case in November, felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

A second woman came forward on Feb. 11, reporting to Eagan police that Le rubbed her breasts during a massage earlier that day. She said he was breathing hard, which made her uncomfortable and scared, the complaint in that case says.

Le put his hand in her underwear toward the side of her vagina, the woman told police, and then grabbed her left arm and forced her hand to touch his crotch. She pulled her hand back and told Le to stop, which he did.

When the massage was over, Le apologized. He explained to her how to go through Groupon to get a refund.

Le was arrested and charged Feb. 14 with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. He appeared in court for an in-person hearing the same day and then posted bond.

According to Monday’s complaint, a woman reported Dec. 20 that the massage began with Le massaging her legs and groin area. Eventually he began touching her vagina over her underwear, then underneath.

The woman told police she turned her head and tried to wiggle away, but Le kissed her. She said he then raped her.

The woman said she remembered Le saying “something along the lines of ‘I shouldn’t be doing this,’ ” the complaint says. She said Le never asked about consent, and that she froze and couldn’t believe what was happening.

After she left, she called her boyfriend and then police.

She underwent a sexual assault exam, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension later reported a DNA sample taken from her matched Le’s DNA.

A Tuesday statement by the Dakota County Attorney’s Office says, “There may be additional victims” and urges others with allegations or information to contact Eagan police Detective Angela Casey at 651-675-5763 or angela.casey@eaganmn.gov.
