St. Paul man ID’d as homicide victim from Edina strip mall parking lot
A 23-year-old fatally shot in Edina was a St. Paul resident.
Darien Jamal Roberson died of multiple gunshot wounds in a strip mall parking lot on 70th Street near France Avenue, across the street from the Galleria, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner’s office and Edina police. Officers responded to a report of the shooting about 9 p.m. Saturday.
The suspect stayed at the scene and police arrested him. Based on preliminary information, Roberson and the suspect knew each other, police said.
Prosecutors expect to file charges today.
