‘Cinderella’ auditions Dec. 7 & 8
Chaska Valley Family Theatre is holding upcoming auditions for “Cinderella.” The auditions are open to students in second grade and up, and adults.
Auditions will be held at Chanhassen High School, 2200 Lyman Boulevard in Chanhassen (no reservation necessary) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7 and Wednesday, Dec. 8. Callbacks 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec, 10, if needed.
Auditions include: Vocal: Sing a portion of “Ten Minutes Ago,” which will be taught at auditions; Reading: A short scene from the script; Dance: You will be taught some simple dance steps in small groups. The group will cast between 50 and 100 people. If not a dancer or singer, volunteer positions are available to help manage children and sew costumes “We encourage and give preference to families that participate together,” states a press release.
The participation fee is $50 per actor (or $125 per family maximum) for this production. Rehearsals start Jan. 3 and generally run Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-9 p.m., with some possible Saturday morning. Not everyone is needed for each rehearsal.
Performances are 7:30 p.m., March 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26; and 2 p.m., March 19, 20, and 26. The production will run about two hours with one intermission. For more information visit www.cvft.org.
