The ‘Tom Brady of stealing packages’ nabbed by Boston Police cadet with ‘sharp eye’
A Boston Police cadet with a “sharp eye” helped bust an alleged local Grinch known as the “Tom Brady of stealing packages” on Christmas Eve, police said.
Southie woman Kerri Flynn, 34, was arrested on Tuesday morning and charged with multiple larceny-related offenses, “thanks to the sharp eye of a Boston Police Cadet,” BPD said in a statement.
Boston police officers at around 11:45 a.m. were in the middle of spreading holiday cheer, delivering toys to children across South Boston, when the cadet spotted Flynn.
She’s a “suspected package thief whose escapades had earned her notoriety among concerned locals,” police said.
“… This suspect has been seen for weeks stealing packages in the area,” the BPD report reads. “Residents that have contacted the community service office have referred to this suspect as the ‘Tom Brady of stealing packages.’ ”
The police officers’ further investigation confirmed Flynn’s identity, and found that she had two bags stuffed with unopened packages.
Police also learned through a database query that she had several outstanding warrants for her arrest on charges of shoplifting and receiving stolen property.
Flynn was taken into custody, and was expected to be arraigned in South Boston court on charges of larceny from a building.
