2025 Lexus UX delivers compact luxury with flare

As Lexus continues to maximize Toyota Motor Co.’s excellent utilization of hybrid technology, the need for a smaller, more luxury-hybrid based SUV was easily in the cards.

Wrapped in Copper Crest, an exquisite exterior color from Lexus which glimmers in the sun, boasted exterior curves nicely. As the UX300 hybrid offers nice comfort and sizing, it’s the miles-per-gallon that everyone raves about. Our week long test came in with 44.8 mpg’s which is outstanding for this class and one that Lexus will take to the bank. Similar to our NX and RX tester, the interior boasts Lexus-like upgrades over Toyota’s frame layout, while ensuring the extra comfortable seats are top of mind and enjoyment.

Powering the Lexus UX300h, is a 2.0 L 4-cylinder hybrid engine with 196 combined horsepower and a CVT transmission. Riding on 18-inch wheels, we noticed great standard features such as dual climate control, heated outer mirrors, roof rails, power rear door, rain sensing wipers, and power moonroof. Optioned up features included wireless phone charger, heated steering wheel, windshield deicer, heads up display, a 12.3-inch Lexus interfaced touchscreen infotainment system and a premium paint upgrade. The Lexus UX is in direct competition with the Audi Q3 as well as the BMW X1. We look forward to testing those models as well to compare apples to apples and provide a category chart-topper.

Lexus has done a tremendous job with the recent release of the GX and other recently upgraded vehicles in the fleet. For the UX, we had a really hard time finding anything negative associated with the compact luxury SUV. For the price point, the UX certainly has a place in the fleet and a great demand from consumers looking for that compact size SUV, with luxury flare and outstanding fuel mileage.
