Wildlife Refuge offers free, naturalist-led programs
The Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge offers free, naturalist-led programs year-round.
Take part in a Bird Watching Trek from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge’s Wilkie Unit, 7701 County Road 101 E., Shakopee.
There are some conifer woods to search for owls and winter finches. Blue Lake usually opens up early so search for open water, waterfowl and even herons and egrets. Bring along your binoculars, favorite field guide and dress appropriately for the weather.
