Apply for Lions Club scholarships
Deadline for completion of Eden Prairie Lions Club scholarship applications has been extended one week. Forms should be in the mail by Monday, April 12.
This year the Lions Club is awarding eight, $1,000 scholarships to qualifying graduating seniors who live in Eden Prairie, regardless of the school they attend. Applicants must have a good academic standing and be civic minded as shown by volunteer work or community projects. Students who apply should be planning to attend a four year college or university or a two year technical or vocational school in the 2010-1011 school year.
“The club would like to especially encourage those students to apply who are not bound for a four year university, but rather a two-year course in a technical or vocational school,” said George Schell, Scholarship Committee Chair, in a news release.
Instructions are on the application forms, available at the high school Resource Center or at www.eplions.org. Scholarship winners will be notified individually and announced at the Eden Prairie High School Academic Awards night, on Thursday, May 13.
