Gophers football: Players start to exit via transfer portal
Two Gophers defensive linemen said Monday they will enter the NCAA transfer portal when it opens Dec. 9.
Senior Luther McCoy, who participated in Senior Day before the Penn State loss on Nov. 23, said he will head out with two years of eligibility remaining. The St. Johns, Fla., product played a total of 13 snaps across his four years at Minnesota.
Redshirt sophomore Hayden Schwartz said he will leave with three seasons left. The Jacksonville, Fla., naive played 11 snaps in two seasons at Minnesota.
The Gophers have had three total scholarship players announce intent to leave the U, with defensive back Craig McDonald of Minnehaha Academy saying he would do so midseason.
