Red Sox lineups: Sox to face Orioles ace in series finale

This past offseason the Baltimore Orioles made a statement, acquiring former Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes to anchor the defending AL East champions’ starting rotation.

Burnes has lived up to the bill so far, and Wednesday night he’ll be standing between the Red Sox and a huge series victory.

The Red Sox will face the Orioles ace in tonight’s series finale, with Kutter Crawford (2-3, 2.89) set to take on Burnes (4-2, 2.60) in the rubber match. Crawford has ranked among the top pitchers in the American League, though he is also coming off his worst outing of the season, and Burnes comes in having pitched into the sixth inning in 10 of his 11 starts so far.

The Red Sox will once again be without outfielder Tyler O’Neill, who was sent back to Boston to undergo imaging on his sore knee, and the club will instead stick with an outfield alignment of Jarren Duran, Ceddanne Rafaela and Wilyer Abreu, with Rob Refsnyder batting third as the designated hitter for the second straight night.
