“Big-stature guy. He can throw the ball,” Stevenson said about the quarterback, who was selected third overall by the Patriots. “I’ll make all my other judgements when he gets here.”
Pass rusher Joshua Uche liked what he saw from Maye, as well, but reiterated comments made by head coach Jerod Mayo that the rookie won’t just be handed the starting job.
“I am not a GM, I am not a head coach, but I feel like he has a lot of potential,” Uche said. “Great arm, very athletic. I feel like he gives us an opportunity to win, but it’s going to be a competition. There’s other quarterbacks on the roster, and it’s just football. It’s a competition.”

It’s gonna be fun,” he said.
