DETROIT — After losing every game for in the final month of this season, the Vikings will officially pick No. 11 in 2024 NFL Draft. It’s the highest draft pick the Vikings have had since the 2015 NFL Draft when they selected cornerback Trae Waynes at No. 11.

There was a chance for the Vikings to crack the Top 10 after suffering a 30-20 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon at Ford Field. They would’ve needed the Chicago Bears to beat the Green Bay Packers in their final game. That did not happen.

Though it remains to be seen who the Vikings decide to select with their high draft pick, it seems likely that they will consider a quarterback. There are a number of top prospects including USC quarterback Caleb Williams, UNC quarterback Drake Maye, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, and Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

If the Vikings fall in love with a particular player in the predraft process, considering their positioning at No. 11, they could theoretically put together a package to trade up. The next couple of months will certainly be worth monitoring now that the Vikings know where they’ll be picking.
