RV Queen Bed, Hidden Shower, and Remote Office Turn This Ram ProMaster into a Road-Ready Home
Remote work has changed what many people expect from a vehicle. For one couple from Maui, the goal was simple: build a rolling living space capable of supporting daily work, travel, sleep, and long-term life on the road. Live More Campervans translated that brief into a custom project called the Shuygee, based on a 2025 Ram ProMaster 159″ Ext Super High Roof.
The tall roof played a major role in shaping the layout. Inside, occupants get 86 inches, or 7 feet 2 inches, of standing room. Extra height made room for several dedicated areas rather than one large open cabin. A work zone sits up front. Swiveling seats face a fold-down desk, while a compartment underneath doubles as storage and a footrest. Small detail, perhaps. Yet floor space stays available for other uses.
Sleeping arrangements take a different route from many camper conversions. Above the rear seating area sits an RV queen bed mounted on a Happy Jack lift mechanism. A button lowers the bed electronically when needed. During the day, the lower section stays available as a wraparound dinette with custom high-density memory foam cushions and a butcher block table mounted on an electric pedestal. When guests arrive or plans change, the same area converts into another sleeping space.
Moving toward the center, the kitchen stretches along both sides of the aisle. Four large drawers fitted with soft-close hardware and 50-pound magnets occupy one side together with upper cabinets, a 130-liter Vitrifrigo refrigerator and freezer, plus a Cubic Cub wood-burning stove. The owners requested the stove because future trips include Alaska and they wanted more than one source of heat.
Across from that section sits additional storage, a chrome slide-out pantry, and a large sink. An extendable faucet reaches outside through the sliding door. A pop-up counter increases preparation space. No fixed cooking appliance appears in the build. Instead, the owners plan to rely on portable equipment such as induction cookers, air fryers, and Insta Pots.
The bathroom arrangement hides in plain sight. A TechVanLife floor shower stays concealed beneath a removable panel until needed. A ceiling-mounted curtain completes the setup. Nearby sits a compact Trelino portable toilet. An exterior shower connection adds another option.
Elsewhere, practical storage appears throughout the van. A recessed drawer occupies part of the walkway floor. Van Essential storage bags line the rear doors. A second refrigerator sits at the back. Electrical and water systems live beneath the dinette benches.
Power comes from a 600-watt solar array, a 460-amp lithium battery bank, and DC-to-DC charging. Through a Garmin PowerSwitch system controlled by an iPad, the owners manage lighting while keeping track of electrical functions, Starlink connectivity, and water tanks during life on the move.
