The Suzuki S-Cross is the best-selling vehicle in Hungary for the 2nd month running.

9,355 passenger cars hit Hungarian roads in August, an excellent 8.2% year-on-year improvement. The year-to-date tally is now up 12% to 95,864. Toyota (-3.9%) is the best-selling brand for the month with 10.1% despite going against the market with a YoY drop, it is followed by Volkswagen (+51%), Suzuki (-16.5%) and Skoda (+8.8%). Year-to-date, Toyota (+10.7%) is in the lead also ahead of Skoda (+23.1%) and Suzuki (-13.6%). Nissan surges 86.1% to #4 thanks to re-exports while Volkswagen (+14.6%) rounds out the Top 5. Other great performers include BYD (+156.6%), Opel (+33.5%), Chery (#14), MG (+20.4%) and Omoda (#20).

Model-wise, the Suzuki S-Cross (-15.1%) is on top like last year and last month while the Suzuki Vitara (-15.6%) overtakes the Skoda Octavia (+3.4%) for 2nd place. The Dacia Duster (+42%) is up five spots on July to #4 followed by the Toyota Corolla (+19%), Kia Sportage (+56.7%) and Ford Tourneo Custom (+28.8%) all in great shape. Year-to-date, the Nissan Qashqai (+119.5%) stays in the lead thanks to an overwhelming amount of re-exports, and distances the Skoda Octavia (+13.6%), Suzuki S-Cross (-6.2%) and Vitara (-10.8%). The Hyundai Tucson (+113.8%) rounds out the Top 5 ahead of the Toyota Corolla (+26.4%) and Yaris Cross (+24.7%). The Ford Puma (+123.6%) and Toyota Aygo X (+96.8%) shine below.
