
Man dead after being struck on Blaine roadway, authorities report
Authorities are investigating a fatal motor vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred early Tuesday in Blaine.
According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to a 4:30 a.m. report of a person lying on the roadway at 109th Avenue Northeast and Central Avenue Northeast in Blaine.
Medics found an injured man at the scene; he was later pronounced dead. He hadn’t been identified later Tuesday pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile early Tuesday, another 911 call came in from a person reporting being in a vehicle that might have hit an individual lying in the road. Authorities later located the vehicle and the adult male driver, who was cooperating with investigators.
In addition to the sheriff’s office, authorities from the Blaine Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the incident.
