Brothel ‘johns’ round 2: Accused Boston suburb sex buyers to appear in court
The second round of probable cause hearings for the accused sex buyers of the Boston suburbs brothel ring has started this morning.
Last Friday at the first of the three probable cause hearing dates taking place at the Cambridge Juvenile Court, 12 of the 28 accused men were called, although only two of them actually showed up. Cambridge District Court Clerk Magistrate Sharon Casey found probable cause to issue criminal complaints against all of them.
It is unknown how many men will be called today. Names are said in court but are not spelled.
The madame of the brothel network that operated in Watertown, Cambridge and the Virginia suburbs of Washington D.C. was Han “Hanna” Lee, 42, of Cambridge. She was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Boston to four years in prison for charges of coercing people to engage in prostitution and money laundering conspiracy.
Her fellow operators and employees, Junmyung Lee, 31, of Dedham, and James Lee, 69, of Torrance, California, have also pleaded guilty to their roles and will face sentencing later.
This is a developing story.
