Boston Mayor Michelle Wu – along with mayors from Chicago, Denver and New York City – was called to testify before a Republican-led Congressional oversight committee Wednesday morning on sanctuary city policies.
Boston’s Trust Act, originally enacted in 2014 and amended in 2019, prohibits BPD and other city departments from cooperating with the U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement, when it comes to detaining immigrants on civil warrants.
