Lakefront Days: Medallion found
A Prior Lake family teamed up to find this year’s Lakefront Days medallion.
The Stichas – parents Tom and Sue, and siblings Tommy, Natalie and Chris – found the treasure on Saturday in Shepherd’s Path Park in northern Prior Lake. The medallion was found at the base of a retention pond intake near the YMCA at the northeast intersection of County Road 42 and McKenna Road. The family turned it in at City Hall on Monday around noon.
The Stichas said they looked for about seven days, with three days spent at Shepherd’s Path Park.
The Stichas have been Prior Lake residents for 23 years and plan to appear in the Lakefront Days parade, one of the perks of finding the medallion.
“It was super fun. We had a hunch about that park and there were a lot of people looking there on Saturday,” said Chris Sticha. “Now we know a lot more about all the parks here in Prior Lake.”
