Jerod Mayo gets aggressive with Patriots fake punt to pick up first down

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo showed some aggression Sunday against the Bills.

Mayo called a fake punt on fourth-and-2 from deep within the Patriots’ territory. Long snapper Joe Cardona direct snapped to safety/punt protector Dell Pettus, who rushed up the middle for 2 yards and a first down.

The Patriots got out to an unexpected 14-0 lead over the Bills and seemingly wanted to keep their foot on the gas pedal.
