
Gophers women’s basketball routs Prairie View to improve to 12-1
The Gophers women’s basketball team improved its season record to 12-1 with a 96-57 rout of Prairie View A&M on Friday afternoon at Williams Arena.
Four Minnesota players scored in double figures — Annika Stewart with a season-high 20 points, Tori McKinney with a career-high 17, Mallory Heyer with 15 and Amaya Battle with 14.
The Gophers forced 17 Prairie View turnovers while committing only three themselves, turning those takeaways into 19 points. McKinney’s five steals led the way for Minnesota.
Myam Thorton scored 12 points, and Ash’a Thompson had 11 for Prairie View (2-7).
