Hastings man charged with multiple counts of child pornography
A Hastings man was charged with possessing child pornography videos and employing and using minors to produce such videos, authorities said Tuesday.
Court documents state that in May 2022, Hunter James Geidl, 27, “knowingly possessed” a video of a minor engaged in sexually explicit activities. Then, from July 29, 2022, until March 22, 2024, court documents say Geidl allegedly employed and used minors to engage in sexually explicit conduct to produce videos, according to U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger’s office.
Investigators believe there may be other victims and ask adults to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (800-225-5324) or tips.fbi.gov if they believe their minor children or dependents had contacts with Geidl.
Geidl was indicted on three counts of production and attempted production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. He made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court on Dec. 13. He remains in custody.
