New Hampshire man accused of robbing Cumberland Farms store, fleeing in stolen BMW
The feds say a New Hampshire man stole two cars and fled a convenience store robbery in a stolen BMW across New England state lines.
Barry English, 37, of Nashua, was indicted late last month on two counts of interstate transportation of a stolen motor vehicle and one count each of interstate transportation of stolen money and Hobbs Act robbery for crimes in late spring and early summer of this year.
The robbery charge could put him in prison for 20 years, while the remaining charges come with maximum penalties of 10 years each.
Federal prosecutors said in a Tuesday statement announcing the charges that on May 23, English drove a stolen Honda Fit from Massachusetts to New Hampshire and that one month later he robbed a Cumberland Farms convenience store in Nashua.
The next day, prosecutors say, he drove a stolen BMW and $5,000 in cash from his robbery from Vermont to New Hampshire.
The indictment was not released with an accompanying law enforcement affidavit detailing the allegations. English was arrested Nov. 20, according to court records. He waived his right to a detention hearing and will be held until at least Jan. 22, his expected trial date start, pending any subsequent orders.
