The Loop NFL Picks: Week 10

Vikings at Jaguars (+3½)
Vikings left tackle Cam Robinson will face his old team just 11 days after being traded to be an emergency replacement for injured Christian Darrisaw. Robinson is a free agent after the season, so he doesn’t have to be stuck in Minnesota long term like, say, Tim Walz.

Broncos at Chiefs (-9½)
It was an historic weekend for the Kelce brothers. Travis set a personal-best with 14 receptions in the Chiefs’ victory over Tampa Bay, and Jason set a personal-best with one sidewalk smashing of a troll’s cellphone.
Pick: Chiefs by 7

Giants vs. Panthers (+4½)
Two of the NFL’s saddest teams are meeting in the unlikely setting of Munich, Germany. While the game will do little other than determine the early order of the 2025 draft, it might finally be adequate punishment for the German hosts after those two world wars.

Eagles at Cowboys (+7½)
Philly running back Saquon Barkley stunned the world last Sunday by leaping backwards over a Jacksonville tackler. The only more sudden reverse of direction last week came after Election Day from Royce White voters.

Patriots at Bears (-6½)
Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson, temporarily benched for his Hail Mary antics in Washington, insists that “one play don’t define me.” That one play, though, is the only reason “Who is Tyrique Stevenson?” will be a question on an upcoming episode of “Jeopardy.”

Dolphins at Rams (-2½)
Rams wideout Puka Nacua was ejected last Sunday for punching the helmet of a Seattle defender. The move was especially foolish because the only NFL player who could possibly be hurt by such a blow is Tua Tagovailoa.

Lions at Texans (+3½)
Detroit safety Brian Branch apologized for flipping off Green Bay fans during the Lions’ victory last Sunday at Lambeau Field. For the record, there was no reciprocation from the dozens of Packers fans who were likely flipping Branch off.

Jets at Cardinals (even)
Arizona pulled into first place in the NFC West last Sunday when the Cardinals beat Chicago amid rain and a hail storm in Glendale. It’s the first game in NFL history in which officials apparently forgot the stadium had a roof.

Falcons at Saints (+3½)
New Orleans set some dubious records in losing its seventh straight game last Sunday to lowly Carolina. Derek Carr became the first quarterback in NFL history to lose to 31 different teams. And Dennis Allen lost the final game that he will ever serve as a head coach.

49ers at Buccaneers (+5½)
Tampa Bay coach Todd Bowles said he gave only “very minor” thought to trying for a game-winning two-point conversion in the final seconds of the Bucs’ loss to unbeaten Kansas City. Further proof that Bowles’ coaching skills are “very minor.”
