Dr. Edwin Bogonko, of Lakeville, was named president of the Minnesota Medical Association, a trade group representing physicians, residents and medical students. Bogonko is a hospitalist with Allina Health in Shakopee.

AIRPORTS

The Metropolitan Airports Commission announced it has selected Michele Ross as director of stakeholder engagement. Most recently, Ross was the MAC’s manager of community relations. The MAC owns and operates Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and six suburban reliever airports in the Twin Cities.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

North Sky Capital, a Wayzata-based investment firm, announced that Managing Director Danny Zouber has been promoted to co-CEO, joining Scott Barrington. … Piper Sandler Cos., a Minneapolis-based investment bank, announced the addition of Ann Gallo to its board of directors. Most recently, Gallo was a senior managing director and partner at Wellington Management Co., and investment team leader of Wellington’s health care team.

HEALTH CARE

AccentCare, a national provider of post-acute care, home health and hospice services, announced it has appointed Dr. Elizabeth Adams as executive director of Hospice Services for Minnesota.

HONORS

Blunt Strategies, a Minneapolis-based consultancy for the cannabis industry in Minnesota, announced that Co-Principals and Partners Laura Monn Ginsburg and Leili Fatehi have been named finalists in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business as Startup of the Year-Business Service Industries.

LAW

The American Antitrust Institute and the Committee to Support Antitrust Laws have awarded Heidi M. Silton the 2024 Hollis Salzman Memorial Leadership Award. Silton is a partner at Lockridge Grindal Nauen, Minneapolis, which announced the award. … The International Association of Defense Counsel announced that Leanne Matchen, senior associate general counsel with Minnetonka-based health insurer UnitedHealthcare, has accepted an invitation to join the organization, which is comprised of attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests.

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY

RION, a Rochester, Minn.-based clinical-stage developer of regenerative medical techniques, announced the following appointments to its advisory board: Dr. James B. Peake, retired lieutenant general and former U.S. Army surgeon general; Dr. Raquel C. Bono, retired U.S. Navy vice admiral; Dr. Steven L. Moran, Mayo Clinic and Shrine Clinic for Sick Children; Dr. Andrew Omidvar, Philips Healthcare, and Steve Reed, HDT Bio.

NONPROFITS

Christian V. Hokans has been appointed to the Volunteer Lawyers Network board of directors; the organization provides civil legal services to low-income people through volunteer attorneys. Hokans in an attorney at Fredrikson, Minneapolis, which announced the appointment.

ORGANIZATIONS

St. Paul resident Asha Carroll announced that she is among 205 leaders selected to join the Obama Foundation Leaders program for 2024-25, engaging participants around the world in leadership development and civic engagement. Carroll will be one of 100 participants in the Leaders USA program. Carroll is assistant vice president of Community Campaigns for the National Stigma Initiative at Shatterproof, providing guidance and support to communities to reverse the addiction crisis in the United States. … The Minnesota Nurses Association, a labor union representing nurses in Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin, announced it has named registered bedside nurse Elaina Hane as executive director.

REAL ESTATE

Northmarq, a Bloomington-based commercial real estate investment firm, announced the promotions of Shawn Power to chief operating officer and Jay Johnson to chief administrative officer, and the addition of Chris Pohlad as chief of staff to CEO Jeff Weidell. Power formerly was Northmarq CFO and Johnson was chief human resources officer. Pohlad will continue to serve concurrently as chief of staff at United Properties, which along with Northmarq is part of the Pohlad Cos., Minneapolis.

SERVICES

True North Diversified, a Minneapolis-based umbrella company comprised of independent business-service providers, announced the promotions in its packaging division of Portfolio Managers Jack Fossand and Nate Prosser to the positions of vice president-sales.

TECHNOLOGY

Jamf, a Minneapolis-based provider of Apple-based software to enterprises, announced the appointment of David Rudow as chief financial officer, succeeding Ian Goodkind. Rudow joins Jamf from Cover Genius, a technology provider to the insurance industry.
