Costa Rica H1 2026: Chery (+46.2%), Mitsubishi (+28.1%) among best performers
Chery sales are up 46.2% year-on-year over the period.
37,022 new light vehicles found a buyer in Costa Rica over the First Half of 2026, a -1.6% year-on-year contraction. Toyota (-20.5%) remains the faraway leader but sees its market share plunge from 20.2% over the First Half of 2025 to 16.3% now. At #2, Nissan (-11.9%) is also in trouble and loses one percentage point of share to 8.7%. The next three carmakers are in positive: Suzuki advances 5%, Mitsubishi is at +28.1% and Geely at +13.7%. Chery (+46.2%) and Isuzu (+35.3%) are the best performers in the Top 10 but BYD (-15.7%) takes a hit.
