Lamborghini Teases a Wilder Urus That Could Take the Super SUV Fight to Another Level

Lamborghini looks ready to turn up the heat on the Urus once again, and the teaser image alone is enough to get performance SUV fans paying attention. The Italian automaker has previewed a new Urus variant set to debut on July 1, showing what appears to be a more aggressive aerodynamic package with a dual-level rear spoiler treatment stretching across the roofline and tailgate area. That is not the sort of detail Lamborghini adds just for drama, even though drama is very much part of the brand’s DNA. This looks like something aimed squarely at making the Urus sharper, faster, and more focused than the current lineup.

The big question is whether this new model serves as a successor to the Urus Performante or becomes something even more extreme. The Performante took the already outrageous Urus formula and sharpened it with added power, weight reduction, and a more serious road presence. Since then, the Urus SE has arrived with plug-in hybrid power and a combined output of 789 horsepower, making it the most powerful Urus yet. That raises the stakes considerably. Any new performance-focused Urus will likely need more than just extra carbon fiber and louder styling to stand apart from the hybrid SE.

A new chapter is taking shape.

Lamborghini has proven many times that it knows how to stretch a model family into distinct personalities, from the Huracan Performante to the STO and Sterrato. The Urus, despite being one of the brand’s most important modern products, has had a relatively small number of variants by comparison. This upcoming reveal could change that in a big way, especially if Lamborghini uses the electrified Urus platform to chase sharper lap times, more downforce, and perhaps even Nürburgring bragging rights. Whatever name it wears, this new Urus appears ready to remind the world that Lamborghini’s SUV is still very much a supercar with room for the family.
