The creators have renewed the series for a fifth installment. This time, the story will center on Hannah Dodd and Masali Baduza as Lady Francesca Stirling and Michaela Stirling. Netflix has officially announced the renewal. The production is in progress and will take around 8 months to wrap up filming. The shooting is taking place in London.

When asked about the renewal for season 5, Masali Baduza replied, ‘When you spend so much time with a character, you genuinely do want them to be happy. So I am really looking forward to [Francesca] feeling like she deserves love.’ The show was renewed in May 2025 for the fifth season.

As of now, no one has announced the exact release date of Bridgerton Season. However, filming is in progress. The available video premiered on March 24, 2026. It is a 48-second short video. The video shows Francesca and Michaela with a message, ‘Love Begins Again.’ The description states, ‘Do not fret, dearest readers, for a certain countess shall find love again… Bridgerton Season 5 is now in production.’

The team has not released the trailer for the upcoming season yet. Many videos appear on YouTube under the name Bridgerton Season 5, but fans have created all of them after the renewal of season 5, and none are official.

The story begins two years after the death of John, the beloved husband of Francesca. The teaser shows Francesca re-entering the marriage market for practical reasons. She met Michaela, the cousin of John and the sister-in-law of Fran. During an interview with Out, show producer Jess Brownell said, ’I feel like Bridgerton made its name in many ways on being an inclusive universe, and for queer stories to be left out of that would not feel right.’

The official synopsis mentioned, ‘The fifth season of Bridgerton spotlights introverted middle daughter Francesca (Hannah Dodd). Two years after losing her beloved husband John, Fran decides to reenter the marriage mart for practical reasons. But when John’s cousin Michaela (Masali Baduza) returns to London to tend to the Kilmartin estate, Fran’s complicated feelings will have her questioning whether to stick to her pragmatic intentions or pursue her inner passions.’
