Unofficial 2027 Kia Sorento CGI Study Points to a Full Fifth-Generation Redesign

Kia had a good start to the year with its model lineup in the US, with the local division recording no less than 207k sales so far, which means around four percent more than last year. Hyundai Motor America ended the same period at 205k units, with a one percent rise against 2025.

Among Kia models, Sportage led the internal ranking with 44,704 sales across the first three months. K4 followed with 37,220 deliveries. Telluride reached 35,928 units and held third place. Sorento moved in the opposite direction. The fourth-generation MQ4 model fell from 25k to 21,510 during the same period.

At the same time, Kia America presented two fresh products at the 2026 New York International Auto Show. One was the all-new 2027 Seltos. The other was the local version of the battery-electric EV3. Seltos appears set for stronger volume because the market already links the model with a smaller Telluride-like role.

A separate discussion now surrounds Sorento. A YouTube channel called AutoYa published an unofficial digital proposal showing what a fifth-generation version might look like. The channel expects a first public preview in Europe and Asia during 2027, followed by United States arrival in 2028.

The reasoning behind the virtual project comes from the current product cycle. The present Sorento entered production in 2020, while the facelift appeared in 2023. From this timeline, the channel argues a full redesign fits the next stage.

The digital concept covers both cabin and body. The project stays unofficial and exists only as computer-generated work prepared by the channel’s artist. The rendering keeps the Hyundai-Kia N3 platform underneath. Engine choices remain aligned with today’s structure, which means internal-combustion, hybrid, and plug-in-hybrid versions.

The artist also placed the hypothetical next Sorento beside the current model for visual comparison. Several exterior and interior views appear through a full digital presentation rather than one isolated image.

Color treatment formed another part of the exercise. Exterior and interior versions appeared in standard tones such as black, then shifted toward brighter combinations including purple, yellow, and red. The channel treated the full sequence like a digital color reel rather than a fixed single specification.

No official statement from Kia supports the rendering. No launch confirmation appears either. The exercise stays within the digital creator space, built around sales context and product timing already visible in the current Sorento cycle.

For now, Sorento remains in fourth-generation form, even while online designers move ahead and sketch what the next chapter might bring.
