The timing could not have been better for Miami.

Strange could make his Dolphins debut against his former team Sunday, when the Patriots travel to South Florida for a 1 p.m. kickoff. Strange spent the summer in New England, and was released in late August after losing his starting job to third-round rookie Jared Wilson during training camp.

After a brief stop in Cleveland, Strange flew to Miami where he cracked to reporters he’s giving Dolphins coaches “everything I can. Getting rid of all (the Patriots’) secrets.”

The 27-year-old shared he’s volunteered some “tips and pointers” about the Patriots’ offense, while Miami coaches have asked for his thoughts on other matters. Strange admitted he doesn’t believe the intel will influence Sunday’s game.

“I don’t think it’s a major edge,” he told reporters.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel insisted this week the team did not sign Strange for his inside information.

“He’s here because of his own merit, and we’re excited to have him,” McDaniel said. “I think all the way back to when he was coming out of college, he has a lot of skill set that we utilize in terms of quickness and his ability to press on an angle and block people.”

The Patriots selected Strange in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He started all 17 games as a rookie at left guard, then 10 more over an injury-shortened season in 2023. Upon recovering from a torn patellar tendon last year, he started two of three game appearances and played center exclusively.
