Uruguay February 2025: BYD (+266%) up to 10% share

BYD is the third best-selling carmaker in Uruguay in February.

5,617 new light vehicles found a buyer in Uruguay in February, a very solid 16.7% year-on-year improvement. As it was the case for January, this is the largest February volume in at least a decade. This way, the year-to-date tally is up 10.4% to 9,768. Fiat (+75.7%) continues to vastly dominate the brands charts with 18.1% share vs. 19.4% so far this year. Far below, Chevrolet (-41.8%) is in a rut and teased for 2nd place by BYD (+266%) delivering its best score since reaching #2 and 12% last June. Below, Renault (+63.7%), Suzuki (+26.2%) and Volkswagen (+26.6%) all beat the market. Bar Hyundai (+6.8%), all remaining Top 10 members fall by the double-digits, with Nissan (-53.8%) hit the hardest.
