Alpine team going to state
In what turned into a two-horse race, the Minnetonka High School boys alpine ski team defended its Section 6AA title by edging Eden Prairie 347 to 334.
Wayzata (285), Mankato East/Loyola (268), and Mankato West (247) finished three, four and five. The top two teams advance to the state meet.
Individually, Eden Prairie’s Blake Barnes posted the second fastest time of the competition (57.085).
This year’s state meet is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 15 at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.
