Police calls from the April 29, 2017 edition

The Prior Lake Police Department responded to the following incidents April 16-April 24. This is not a comprehensive list of all incidents to which the department responded.

ASSAULT

April 16: Police arrested a 31-year-old Prior Lake man in the 5000 block of Bluff Heights Trail for domestic assault by strangulation.

April 19: Police arrested a 16-year-old Minneapolis girl for fifth-degree assault and disorderly conduct after she allegedly punched another girl in the face in the 13700 block of McKenna Road.

April 21: Police arrested a 26-year-old Prior Lake man for fifth-degree domestic assault in the 4600 block of Tower Street after he allegedly attempted to punch a family member.

BURGLARY

April 16: Police responded to multiple reports of burglary and property damage in the 16800 and 16900 blocks of Welcome Avenue between April 15 and April 16. In one case, locks were broken off of a gate and windows were smashed out of a couple vans. Nothing was missing in that case. In another case, a utility trailer containing tools was stolen, and four trucks were damaged. The trailer was later recovered. The cases are under investigation.

DRUG OFFENSES

April 16: Police arrested a 35-year-old Faribault man for fifth-degree drug possession after he was found with methamphetamine at Mystic Lake Casino, 2400 Mystic Lake Blvd.

April 16: Police arrested a 25-year-old Waite Park, Minn. woman for fifth-degree drug possession and providing a false name to police after she was found with methamphetamine at Mystic Lake Casino. She also had a Department of Corrections warrant out for her arrest.

April 21: Police arrested a 19-year-old Inver Grove Heights woman for fifth-degree drug possession, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia after she was found with methamphetamine and marijuana at Little Six Casino, 2354 Sioux Trail. She also had a Scott County warrant for fifth-degree drug possession.

April 23: Police cited a 27-year-old Apple Valley woman for possession of drug paraphernalia at Mystic Lake Casino.

April 24: Police arrested a 45-year-old Newport woman for fifth-degree drug possession and trespassing after she was found with methamphetamine at Mystic Lake Casino.

DWI

April 16: Police arrested a 29-year-old Prior Lake man for second-degree DWI after pulling him over on Franklin Trail at 1:30 a.m. His blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was registered at .21.

April 19: Police arrested a 52-year-old Hopkins woman for third-degree DWI after pulling her over for failing to stay in a single lane near Mystic Lake Casino at 2:25 p.m. Her BAC was registered at .19.

April 20: Police arrested a 27-year-old Lakeville man for fourth-degree DWI after pulling him over on County Road 42 near Highway 13 at 12:59 a.m. He was also cited for driving after revocation and possession of drug paraphernalia. The man’s BAC is pending as authorities await the results of a blood test.

FRAUD

April 16: Police responded to a report of a counterfeit $20 being used at Holiday, 16800 Duluth Ave.

LIQUOR VIOLATIONS

April 16: Police cited a 19-year-old Shoreview woman for underage consumption of alcohol after she was found with an alcoholic beverage at Mystic Lake Casino.

April 21: Police cited a 19-year-old Delano man for underage consumption of alcohol after he arrived at Mystic Lake Casino noticeably under the influence of alcohol.

April 21: Police cited three people with liquor violations after one of them attempted to use the ID of another person to purchase alcohol at Mystic Lake Casino. Cited for underage consumption of alcohol were a 20-year-old Iowa City, Iowa man, a 20-year-old Wilton, Iowa woman, and a 19-year-old man from Blue Earth, Minn.

April 22: Security staff at Mystic Lake Casino encountered a woman walking through the hotel hallways who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Police cited the woman, a 20 year old from Crystal, for underage consumption of alcohol.

OBSTRUCTING

April 19: Police arrested a 33-year-old Eden Prairie woman for obstructing the legal process after pulling her over on Mystic Lake Drive near Valley View Road for failing to stay in a single lane. An officer asked the woman for her driver’s license, but she refused and rolled up her window. The woman proceeded to make a phone call, and appeared to be acting manically in her vehicle. Additional officers were asked to respond, and they eventually had to break a window on the vehicle to remove the woman.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

April 19: Police responded to a report of a vehicle damaging a mailbox in the 5300 block of 140th Street. There are no suspects.

April 19: Police cited a 23-year-old Shakopee man for fourth-degree criminal property damage in the 4900 block of Bluff Heights Trail. The man was hitting a window, and it eventually broke.

April 24: Police responded to a report of windows being smashed out of a dump truck parked in the area of County Road 42 and Crest Avenue. The damage appeared to have been done by a rock. There are no suspects.

THEFT

April 17: A construction trailer was broken into in the 2900 block of Mniowe Trail and tools were stolen. Three hours later, police learned of another construction trailer in the area that had been broken into. The cases are under investigation.

April 17: A backpack and a lacrosse bag were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 5400 block of Fawn Court. There are no suspects.

April 17: Police responded to a report of someone attempting to steal an ice house from the 16800 block of Industrial Circle. The suspect was unsuccessful, but a door on the ice house was damaged.

April 17: A BMX bike was stolen from the 16800 block of Welcome Avenue. The case is under investigation.

April 17: A stroller was stolen from a garage in the 16900 block of Toronto Avenue. There are no suspects.

April 22: Police arrested a 20-year-old Apple Valley man for gross misdemeanor theft after he took a pile of casino chips from a table at Mystic Lake Casino and tried to flee the building.

April 23: Police responded to a reported theft of a cell phone at Little Six Casino, and with the help of security, they identified the suspect as a 34-year-old Eagan man. Once the phone was recovered, the victim declined to press charges, but police did arrest the man on a Dakota County warrant for failing to appear in court.

April 24: A man went to a store in the 15700 block of Highway 13 and asked for a fishing license, but after the license was processed, the man walked out without paying for it. The case is under investigation.

WARRANTS

April 20: Police arrested a 39-year-old Prior Lake man in the 2300 block of Park Place on a Scott County warrant for driving after revocation.

April 22: Police arrested a 25-year-old man from Savage during a traffic stop on County Road 42 near Rutgers Street on a Scott County warrant for failing to appear in court.
