Uruguay November 2024: BYD (+241.2%), Citroen (+102.7%) shine in strong market

BYD signs the best performance in the Top 10 in November.

It’s another very solid month for new light vehicle sales in Uruguay with November up 15.2% year-on-year to 6,344 units. This brings the year-to-date tally up 9.5% to 56,900. Chevrolet (-23.8%) reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date despite a ghastly year-on-year fall. Only 7 units below is Fiat (+38.9%) in outstanding shape with Volkswagen (+58.5%) doing even better at #3 with 11.2% share vs. 8.7% so far this year. Renault (+5.8%) is more timid at #4 while Hyundai (+63.6%) smashes it and rounds out the Top  5 as it does year-to-date. BYD (+241.2%) posts by far the best performance in the Top 10 and climbs to 6th place with 8% share which is the brand’s 2nd best score below the 12% it held back in June. Citroen (+102.7%) also impresses at #7.
