Boston man charged with stabbing outside of Roadrunner concert venue in Brighton

A 36-year-old Boston man has been charged with stabbing another man multiple times outside the Roadrunner concert venue in Brighton, according to the Suffolk DA’s Office.

Collin Hullum was charged with assault to kill, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury in connection with the stabbing from earlier this month.

Boston police officers responded to the Roadrunner on Guest Street for a person stabbed on Dec. 1 after 2:30 a.m.

Cops at the scene saw the 26-year-old victim being treated by Boston EMS for five stab wounds to his back area.

Detectives later found surveillance video that showed an argument between the victim’s group and three males inside the foyer of nearby Warrior Ice Arena.

One of the males, later identified as Hullum, was seen striking the victim in the back, according to the DA’s office. The victim was then seen running away from Hullum, clutching his back.

The victim had apparently tried to break up the altercation before being stabbed.

“What was supposed to be an evening out enjoying a show quickly turned into a violent altercation that resulted in one man facing serious injuries and another man facing serious charges,” Suffolk DA Kevin Hayden said. “The victim here seemed to be attempting to stop the violence. I thank him for that and I wish him a full recovery.”

Witnesses reportedly said the fight had begun because Hullum’s sister had cut the line at the bar and was confronted for it. She then reportedly told Hullum that she had been assaulted.

Surveillance video shows Hullum walking to his car after the stabbing and driving away at 2:46 a.m.

Hullum was also seen holding a knife in a TikTok video, the DA’s office said.

Based on witness statements and surveillance video, investigators identified Hullum and got a warrant for his arrest.

A second individual was also seen carrying a knife during the altercation, and at one point tried to stab two people while inside the Warrior Ice Arena foyer. That individual will be charged at a later time, the DA’s office said.

Hullum is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing later this week.
