Fatal pedestrian accident in Boston; water from broken pipe leaks onto Mass Pike in Newton
A fatal pedestrian accident before dawn in Boston has police warning investigators will be at the scene all morning, making the commute difficult.
Police report at 5:42 a.m., officers from B-2 and Boston EMS responded to Malcolm X Boulevard and Tremont Street in Lower Roxbury for a report of a person struck by a motor vehicle. “The victim has been pronounced. Homicide and the Fatal Collision Team are being called to the scene to investigate,” BPD stated.
Police added the case “will have a major impact on the morning commute today. We are advising people to seek an alternative route and avoid this area.”
There are also reports of a water main break near the Mass Pike in Newton. The water from the leak has reached the Pike causing some delays.
