BOYS BASKETBALL

In the championship games of the third annual Zach Markowitz Basketball Tournament, Finn Baron scored 20 points and tournament MVP Sam Thompson added eight as Marblehead edged Bishop Fenwick, 55-53. In the consolation game, Connor DiTomaso scored 21 points and dished out four assists as Danvers beat Salem Academy, 82-24.

In other nonleague action, Isaiah Green scored 23 points and teammate Michael Cimetti added 20 as Hull defeated Excel Academy, 59-49.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Natalie Libby scored 16 points as Haverhill defeated Boston Latin 34-26 in a nonleague contest. … Mackenzie Kaiser recorded 16 points to lead Westwood past Lincoln-Sudbury, 51-44 in overtime. … Addie Taylor (11 points) and Hannah Kuriscak (10) led a balanced attack as Apponequet (2-0) defeated Middleboro, 52-46. … Amelia Crowe scored 16 points as Pentucket rolled to a 55-16 win over Swampscott. … Ava Orlando collected 34 points, 10 assists and five steals and Effie Giannopoulos finished with 28 points and six boards as Notre Dame of Hingham won 82-54 over Dennis-Yarmouth.

In the Catholic Central League, junior Mollie Mullen netted a career-high 28 points with four steals while senior captain Maddy Steel added a career-high 24 points as Bishop Feehan rolled over Archbishop Williams 79-50.

BOYS HOCKEY

Adam Bauer and Liam Guilderson each finished with a goal and an assist as Belmont topped Melrose, 2-1, in Middlesex League play. … Jack McEleney scored twice and Jack Lee added a goal to lead Woburn past Stoneham, 3-1.

Ryan Ferguson scored the game-winner in overtime as Weymouth defeated Needham, 3-2, in Bay State Conference action. … Evan Anderson scored the game’s only goal as Braintree edged Walpole, 1-0.

In nonleague action, junior Ned Akashian scored four times as Lowell blanked Minuteman 8-0. … Finn Cronin scored twice as Silver Lake took down Oliver Ames 7-1. … Jace Gangadharin had a hat trick as Brookline took down King Philip, 5-3.

In the Greater Boston League, Matthew DeAngelis scored seven goals as Somerville downed Lynn, 10-3

GIRLS HOCKEY

Kendall LaRiviere scored twice as HNPA rolled to a 7-0 nonleague win over Longmeadow. … Talia Martucci finished with three goals and an assist to eclipse 100 career points and lead Winthrop to a 7-0 victory over Medford/Malden. … Mackenzie Ilacqua had a hat trick as Quincy/North Quincy defeated Stoughton 7-2.

In the Central Catholic League, Chloe Bryda notched a hat trick as Bishop Feehan topped St. Mary’s of Lynn 5-1.

Jordan DiGiandomenico had two tallies, including the game-winner in overtime as Natck edged Bay State Conference opponent Brookline 3-2.

WRESTLING

Shawsheen rolled to a team victory at the 39th annual Blue Devil Classic in Salem, New Hampshire. The Rams scored 268 points, easily outdistancing runner-up Concord (NH). Sidney and James Tildsley joined Trevor Deardon (2008) as the only wrestlers to win the event four times, while Logan Holmes and Tristan Lane captured titles.

Emri Tanir and Alex McDonald won all four of their matches as Westford Academy went 3-1 on the day. The Grey Ghosts defeated Northeast/Bishop Fenwick 60-24, Londonderry (NH) 48-36 and Danvers 54-18, while losing to Foxboro, 54-22.
