Red Sox replacing Winter Weekend with one-day event at Fenway Park
After previously announcing plans to make changes to their annual Winter Weekend in Springfield, the Red Sox are officially bringing their offseason fanfest back home.
Monday afternoon the Red Sox announced “Fenway Fest,” which will be a daylong event at Fenway Park and the adjacent MGM Music Hall on Saturday, Jan. 11. The event marks the club’s first offseason fan event at Fenway since 2017 and will feature a sneak peak of the upcoming Netflix documentary series on the 2024 Red Sox season.
Like Winter Weekend, Fenway Fest will afford fans the opportunity to interact with Red Sox players, coaches and alumni. There will be panels, as well as photo and autograph availability. Fans will also be able to conduct self-guided tours through various parts of the ballpark, including both clubhouses.
Among the event’s headliners will be Greg Whiteley, director of the upcoming Netflix series, who will be on hand to give attendees an early look at the project. He will also share behind-the-scenes stories alongside players on the production on the show and how the season played out within the Red Sox clubhouse.
The event will also feature face painting, a caricaturist, interactive games and live entertainment, along with historic exhibits, Hall of Fame memorabilia and displays showcasing memorable moments from Red Sox history.
Tickets are $85 for adults and $35 for children age 14 and under, with reduced rates for season ticket holders ($75 adult, $30 children). Each ticket also comes with a voucher for an April or May home game next season. Updates on participants and activities will be posted at redsox.com/fenwayfest.
