Road rage stabbing: Massachusetts man arrested after stabbing in Allston
A 40-year-old Brockton man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a man following a “road rage incident” earlier this week, according to Boston Police.
John Burgo was arrested after the stabbing in Allston on Thursday evening, police said.
Boston cops responded to Cambridge Street for a report of a person stabbed on Thursday just before 6 p.m.
Upon arrival, the police officers found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Cops began to render medical aid and requested Boston EMS to respond. The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Officers were advised that the suspect exited his vehicle and approached the victim’s vehicle,” police said in a statement. “A verbal altercation ensued which quickly turned violent.”
MBTA Transit Police then alerted officers that a T bus was behind the involved vehicle during the incident and had camera footage of the suspect. Officers determined that the suspect’s vehicle fled the area towards North Beacon Street.
Boston Police broadcasted a description of the suspect and the fleeing vehicle.
“After further investigation, detectives determined that the suspect was involved in a prior road rage incident with the victim that occurred on Tuesday, December 3, 2024,” police said.
Boston Police operations then notified officers that Massachusetts State Police found the vehicle traveling on Storrow Drive.
Mass State Police and BPD officers were able to stop the vehicle in the area of Clarendon Street and Back Street.
