Ticker: Ex-Norfolk DA spokesman lands at Regan PR; $7.54B EV loan
David Traub, who just quit as spokesman for the Norfolk DA’s office, is joining Regan Communications.
The Herald has learned Traub will be a vice president of news operations for the Boston-based public relations company. He joins David Procopio who left as spokesman for the Massachusett State Police to join Regan.
Traub said last month he was leaving DA Michael Morrissey’s side because “it was just time to go.”
He did not comment about the Karen Read murder case, the Sandra Birchmore murder case, the $200,000 Canton police audit, the dysfunctional State Police officers assigned to the DA’s office and the prosecution of blogger Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney.
Traub was also a reporter working for the MetroWest Daily News in Framingham before heading over to the DA’s job.
$7.54B loan for Stellantis EV venture sealed
A Stellantis joint venture with Samsung SDI has won a commitment from the U.S. government for up to a $7.54 billion loan to help build two electric vehicle battery plants in Kokomo, Indiana.
The project being built by StarPlus Energy LLC is expected to create at least 2,800 jobs at the plants and hundreds more at a nearby park for parts supply companies, the Energy Department said Monday in a statement.
The loan still must be finalized, but the government said the commitment shows its intent to finance the project. To get the loan, StarPlus must develop a plan to engage with community and labor leaders to create good paying jobs. It also has to meet technical, legal, environmental and financial conditions before the government will fund the loan.
