Freeze warning issued for tonight, temps to dip below 30 degrees
Don’t turn your heat off just yet!
The National Weather Service in Taunton just issued a freeze warning (yes, bitter cold is back) for tonight into tomorrow morning.
“Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 expected,” the alert states, adding the mercury will drop between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m.
“Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing,” the warning adds. “Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.”
The warning has, so far, been issued for eastern Norfolk, southeast Middlesex, Suffolk, eastern Essex, and eastern Plymouth counties.
