Triston Casas exits Red Sox game after 1 at-bat
After drawing a one-out walk in the top of the first inning Saturday evening, Triston Casas didn’t emerge from the dugout to take first base for the bottom of the inning.
The Red Sox brought Pablo Reyes in to play third, and moved Bobby Dalbec to first.
While the club has yet to make an announcement, their former infielder and current NESN broadcaster Will Middlebrooks weighed in on X (formerly Twitter):
“Definitely saw Casas grab (his) abdominal area after the 3-1 hack. Oblique would be awful considering how much more production the team has been getting from him.”
Casas entered Saturday having started all of the team’s previous 21 games. He homered in Friday night’s series opener, his fourth round-tripper in his last seven contests.
