Red Sox lineups: Tyler O’Neill out of the lineup after Monday’s collision

Tyler O’Neill is out of the lineup after leaving Monday’s game due a scary collision in the outfield with Rafael Devers.

The Red Sox outfielder suffered a deep gash above his left eye and received eight stitches following the incident. Manager Alex Cora said following the game that O’Neill would be evaluated for a concussion, though it’s not clear as of this writing whether he suffered one or if he’s just being given a day to rest and recover.

The rest of Boston’s lineup is front-loaded with lefties to face Cleveland right-hander Tanner Bibee (1-0, 5.93 ERA). Jarren Duran is playing left field and batting leadoff, Devers is starting at third and batting second, Masataka Yoshida is the designated hitter and batting third, Triston Casas is at first base and batting cleanup, Wilyer Abreu is in right field and batting fifth and Enmanuel Valdez is at second base and batting sixth.

Ceddanne Rafaela is starting in center field, David Hamilton at shortstop and Connor Wong at catcher. Garrett Whitlock (1-0, 1.26) is looking to continue his excellent start to the season.
