Red Sox lineups: Rafael Devers not in the lineup for finale against Orioles
Rafael Devers is not in the lineup for Thursday’s series finale against the Baltimore Orioles.
Devers is set to sit for the first time since March 30, when he missed two games with a sore shoulder. It is unclear if Thursday’s absence is injury related or if he’s being given a scheduled off day. Pablo Reyes is set to start at third base in his place.
Without Devers the Red Sox will bat Tyler O’Neill second, Masataka Yoshida third and Triston Casas fourth for the series finale against the Baltimore Orioles. O’Neill will start in left field with Jarren Duran playing center and rookie Wilyer Abreu playing right, and David Hamilton will get the start at shortstop.
Garrett Whitlock (1-0, 0.96 ERA) is expected to take the mound for the Red Sox against Orioles starter Grayson Rodriguez (2-0, 2.19).
