Red Sox lineup: Jarren Duran to make spring debut, play left field
FORT MYERS, Fla. — Jarren Duran will make his spring debut for the Red Sox on Friday against the Twins, and in a surprise, will also start in left field.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Thursday that Duran would return today but that he would likely serve as the designated hitter. Duran underwent season-ending toe surgery last fall and the club has been careful building him up, but Cora told reporters Friday morning that he is full-go and will play four innings against the Twins.
Lucas Giolito will make his second start of the spring and will face off against Minnesota’s Joe Ryan, and Chris Murphy, Isaiah Campbell, Justin Slaten, Helcris Olivarez and Justin Hagenman are all scheduled to pitch for Boston as well.
