Firefighters respond to large blaze on St. Paul’s University Avenue
St. Paul firefighters are at the scene Wednesday of an overnight fire on University Avenue.
No injuries have been reported, according to Deputy Chief Roy Mokosso.
Firefighters responded to a basement fire in the 900 block of West University Avenue about 3 a.m. They went inside to fight the fire and conduct preliminary searches.
Because of conditions inside, firefighters needed to exit the building and fight the blaze from the exterior, Mokosso said. Fire crews remained on the scene as of 7 a.m.
Additional information is expected later Wednesday.
